Away: Chapter Four

After my bath, I dress back into my messy clothes and walk out to the humongous kitchen. I didn't realize how hungry I am until now.
"Do you want something to eat?" Angi asks, appearing out from the gorgeous spiral staircase beside the pantry.
"Please," I reply, feeling my stomache growl loudly.
Angi walks to the fridge and jerks in open.
"Here, I have some kiesh left from last night's dinner with the kids-"
"Wait, the kids?" I say, startled. I didn't even guess that she has kids.
"Yeah, Ashleigh and Markus," she says fondly. "So, you want the kiesh or not?"
"Yes please. I haven't eaten in at least a day," I reply. Wow, kids! I could have a brother and a sister! That is, if she doesn't turn out evil like the signs she is setting off suggest.
"I'll be picking them up from day care soon," she mentions, grabbing the kiesh and handing it to me.
"Oh," I say. "How old are they?"
"Markus is six and Ashleigh is eight," Angi tells me.
Wow, I would be the oldest, I think, biting into the kiesh. Oh, that is really good.
"We'll have to go get you some fresher clothes. Both of my kids are much too small to lend you theirs," she tells me.
Yes! I think, finishing up the kiesh. Finally, I get something nice and new! Okay, maybe I'm dreaming. I pinch myself. Nope!
