Hello there, everyone! Glad to be a member of apricotpie! Since you'll want to know a bit about me, I'll show you the way I show my readers about my characters: by showing where they live, what they like, what they dislike, and what they do.

Hello there, everyone! Glad to be a member of apricotpie! Since you'll want to know a bit about me, I'll show you the way I show my readers about my characters: by showing where they live, what they like, what they dislike, and what they do. Well, first, I live in southwest Missouri with my parents, three siblings (two younger brothers and a little sister). Other members of my family include Jet, a one-hundred pound black lab; Jake, my beautiful albeit somewhat lazy horse, and my most adorable companion, Cricket, a yorkie terrier. What I like: Books! The book shelves in my room are overflowing, literally. Riding. There's nothing more relaxing than a long ride on a smooth-gaited horse. Knitting and sewing. My latest project is a pair of wool socks for this winter. Spending time with my family and friends. My favorite movie: First Knight, with Ladyhawke running a close second. My favorite music: Celtic music, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and Christmas music. What I dislike: Obnoxious politicians, traffic, waste of any kind (#1 pet peeve), cattle, hot weather, and cucumbers. What I do: I write! I'm currently working on my first novel, Son of the Shield, but really I write just about anything, from poems to short stories. One whole drawer in my room is full of napkins, Wal-Mart Receipts, bank slips, tithe envelopes, and any other scrap of paper on which I have written some idea or other (can I get a witness?). Hopefully you'll see more of my writing on here in the future!

Welcome to apricotpie, Mary!

What kind of story is Son of the Shield? What genre, I mean?

And I totally understand with the writing-on-everything-you-can-get-ur-hands-on thing. :D

So, you finally joined and you didn't say a word to me at the h2o? How dare you!!!!
Or maybe you did and I was just so wiped out I don't remember. Anyways...welcome!!!!!
Everyone, I personally have witnessed her drawer full of random scraps she's written on. :0) And her story Son of the Shield is absolutely amazing, as far as I know about it. She's never actually let me read anything of it. :0)
See ya soon, Mary!

I've been telling you for months that I was going to join, Thea, I just forgot to tell you about it at the H2O.
Thanks for the "absolutely amazing" comment about Son of the Shield - but I did so let you read the first four pages of it after the brush-clearing day at my house, so watch the wild accusations! : )

Oh right, you did. :0) OK, but only four pages.
Can you come the 29th? Everyone else is on...and Monica is coming a day early so she'll be at orchestra all day. So it'll be fun!!!
Oh, one more word about "My Cousin Alexandra"...you may not have a cousin Alexandra, but you do have a cousin Marshal. :0) Thought I'd leave you with the parting thought although I'll probably pay if you do come for the sleepover. But...you know me...I couldn't resist.

And just how much of The Second Crown have I been allowed to read? Hmmm?
I don't know yet about the 29th - I have one thing I have to check on, I may have something else. I'll let you know.
And about my cousin Marshall - that's a low and dirty thing to bring up!
Yes, if I come the 29th, you'll pay.
Most Cordially,
Mary

Brother: Your character should drive a motorcycle.
Me: He can't. He's in the wilderness.
Brother: Then make it a four-wheel-drive motorcycle!

Writing on the wall: "HEATHER IS DEAD MEAT". :0) Please try as hard as you can to come the 29th! I probably do deserve something for the comment about Marshall...however just remember I sympathize greatly.
Umm, you read the prologue that I now scrapped. Did I tell you that? And I thought I let you read more. I was almost positive. Anyway, you've read more variety, because you've read in The Second Crown, Sword of Carinth, AND Roliwyn. No, maybe not the last one, but definitely the first two. So I'd say we're pretty muchly even.
Now, your turn to comment on something of mine. And you need a profile picture. Pickypickypicky, I know. :0)
And watch out for the dog over the fence--it bites. :0)

Computer illiterate people like me should not be left alone! I know I need a profile picture (and I KNEW you would bring that up eventually) but I'm too dense to make it work. The computer keeps telling me that the file is too big, even though there's only one picture in it. You'll have to explain it to me, I guess.
No, I haven't read any of Roliwyn.
Still working on the 29th!

If you come the 29th I'll see if I can help you at all with your picture problem.
OK, remember the book we were going to write together about Shelt and Brehlia? I kinda got some ideas for it. We'll have to talk about it Friday, but to tantalize you I came up with a title suggestion--"Resurrection Rebels-Daybreak". :0) Somehow it's tying into another story idea I had, which is titled "Resurrection Rebels-Nightfall." So, anyway...it might be kinda cool to write the chapters, OK them with each other, and post them on here since we're both users now! Sounds good or what? I'm full of ideas tonight!!!!!! (Must be something with orchestra starting up again...) :0)

How did you know that I had the same idea about posting our story about Shelt and Brehlia on here? Great minds think alike! And I love the title! Don't know how it applies to the story, but it's great anyway!
P.S. Orchestra starting up again has that effect on people. I have 3 new story ideas to tell you about on Friday!

Telepathy, my dear friend. It's a good thing we have different tastes in clothing otherwise we'd come to orchestra dressed the same. Wouldn't that be scary?
:0) I honestly can't wait for our weekly writer's conference to start up again!

It certainly is good that we have different tastes in clothes because, to hear our moms tell it, we're basically twins in every other way.
See ya tomorrow!
