When Movies Are Funny (When They're Not Supposed to Be)

I was re-watching Twilight a couple days ago and Bella said a couple of things that just really, really made me laugh. Apparently, I hadn't noticed them before. Let me illustrate:

Edward: *throwing things around, pointing out that he could kill someone so easily, trying to scare Bella off* I'm. Designed. To Kill.

Bella: I don't care.

Me: HA! HA! HA HA HA HA HA!

I don't know why, but that struck me as funny. "I don't care." She said it instantly, like she really meant it. (Did she? The world will never know...)

And movies can be funny like that. Things are so obvious at times, and then the characters go and do something so dumb that it's hilariously funny.

Example: Edward and Bella had clarified that he was a vampire, that he wanted to kill her, blah, blah, blah...

So Bella's sitting there, and she gets up, and you hear a voice over say:

"There were three things I was sure about. First; Edward was a vampire."

And we all just burst out laughing. (By 'we' I mean my family, because we all kind of ended up watching it together). I wanted to say, "Oh, you don't say? He's a vampire?"

"Second, there was a part of him, and I didn't know how dominate that part might be, that thirsted for my blood."

Okay, Bella. You keep right on loving him.

"And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him."

Did I call that or what?!

It's like in horror movies, when the characters go down a dark hall WITHOUT turning on lights. Isn't the first thing you'd do, upon hearing a creepy noise or seeing a ghost in your house, turn on a light? But instead, NO! The idea just slips away from them! Instead they're going to APPROACH the noise, without a WEAPON, ALONE, in THE DARK. Makes perfect sense, eh?

Don't get me wrong. I love Twilight. I just find it funny at times. And, hey, it's fun to make fun of.

Hey, that's why I watched Twilight. I find it hilarious. Like when she sees Edward for the first time, and her hair starts blowing, and there's AN ACTUAL FAN behind her.
And let's not forget the Breaking Dawn trailer: "BELLA... We're the same temperature now." The whole theater there for Hunger Games burst into laughter.
Twilight isn't the only example, of course. It's just that you brought it up. :)

@Anna--LOLOL!! I know, "We're the same temperature now?"..."Whaaaaaaat? I HAD NO IDEA! OH EM GEE!" But really, they are really good at being unintentionally funny. :D In the best way, of course, because I love them. haha....but, as I said, they're SO FUN to make fun of! Haha.

@Erin--*grinning* I love your description! Luke had a very, er, mature reaction to that news, didn't he? ;) I've never seen Star Wars but that sounds hilarious.

Off subject: Did you like the Hunger Games, Anna? I thought the books were a million times better, but they did a good job. Did you ever see it/read it Erin? Hunger Games trumped Twilight, at least in my book. ;-)

Oh, I liked it. I thought they did a good job translating it to screen, apart from overuse of shaky cam. But I'm not an uber fan of the books in the first place.

When Darth Vader told Luke that he was his father. Luke made this scrunched up face that made him look like he had been stepped on by an elephant and then had a screen door slammed in his face over and over again and started screaming like a dying cow. It was really, really, really funny lol.

@Erin--so do I! I loved the books.

@Anna--yeah, was really shaky! Weird style, for sure!

P.S. (lol) Erin, I love your quote! I read The Fault in Our Stars pretty recently...UGH. SO SO SO DEPRESSING! (-_-) But it was good, otherwise! Haha.

Thanks! The Fault in Our Stars is my favorite book <3 I highly recommend all of the other John Green books, too (he's my favorite author). TFiOS is the best though :D
*edit: The Fault in Our Stars was definitely depressing. I cried like a baby, lol.

When Jacob takes off his shirt to clean off Bella's bloody forhead after she was on the motorcycle. That made me LOL! I was like "seriously? You had to take... the WHOLE shirt off? wouldn't a corner of his shirt work?"LOL!

When Prince Dustan in Prince of Persia pulls out his swords with a fiery back ground! HILARIOUS! LOVE IT! Sweat, hair swinging, SOOOOO CHEESY!

My sister (and Homey's brothers) thinks it's funny in the Jane Eyre when Mr. Rochester calls out "JANE" but I think it's romantic! LOL!...

In Harry Potter Deathly Hallows part 2 when Neville is coming back to consciousness and the everything is in slow motion and blurry in the background and suddenly a guy on fire falls in the background (in slow motion, ha ha!), Neville's expression is priceless!

When Aragorn (?) in LOTR's in the last movie says, "This army" and all the green spirits attacks. More cheesiness!

Lots more I can't think of right now! LOL! Hehehehehe!
