The Busier Life

When life gets crowded
Pushing on from one place to the
Next
And all that's left are a series of
Ripples
A wake trailing behind where you have just left
And nearly could be caught
But just peeled away
At the threshold of the second
Scoffing at the concept of a day
Becoming
A dash like lightning
Illuminating the sky
Like when we drove home
The other night
Rain pelted the windshield and
The lull of the empty road
On both ends of us
I felt suspended
In that moment
I was armed with the knowledge
For now I could do nothing
But sit and marinate
In the idea of lazy
But tomorrow
I recalled
A niggling at the base of my skull
Tomorrow
I had ten things
To do

I love this! As someone who also is constantly on the move, this is so relatable. I also liked the imagery of: "the other night/rain pelted the windshield and/the lull of the empty road/on both ends of us"

This is beautiful! I absolutely adored the imagery! My favorite lines are
"And all that's left are a series of
Ripples
A wake trailing behind where you have just left
And nearly could be caught
But just peeled away
At the threshold of the second
Scoffing at the concept of a day"

Simply beautiful! I can completely relate. I have felt I have spent most of my life in overdrive and I am finding now that I am older, I wish I would have spent more time simply doing nothing. It is such a challenge to be still and tune out the world we live in today. It is so worth it and refreshing when we do though! We just need to breathe sometimes. I don't want to be so busy that I wake up someday and my life is over and it was all one big blur.

Don't forget to take "you-time" while doing all of those college classes! If you don't, you'll go crazy! (take it from someone who has been there!)

Keep up the writing and great job as usual!

"Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

I really like the imagery and pictures you put into my mind! It was enjoyable, and though the rhythm is off in the end, I kind of like how it cuts off like that in the end. "To do".

"Rain pelted the windshield and
The lull of the empty road
On both ends of us" - I could really picture this. This was happening to us just last weekend - traveling under the pelting rain in the country road...

"And all that's left are a series of
Ripples" - I like the idea of how you are saying you are so busy that events overlap each other, so while you're on the next task, the water is still moving behind you. I don't know if you purposely did that, but that's how I interpreted it. :)

"It is not the length of life, but the depth of life." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Ahhhhhh, this is so me! How did you capture this feeling? As you can probably tell, I have been very busy with life, and it never seems to stop! But I just love everything about this and in this. Great job!! :)
