A Song I Wrote When I Was 11...

Hey, AP! Guess what I found! A FLASH DRIVE! This ancient contraption served me well years ago, so when I found it and saw it still worked, I stuck it into the laptop and struck GOLD!
Honestly, all these old stories and poems are beautiful! I forgot all about them until now!
So this one, called 'Don't Say Goodbye', was stuck in my head for a couple years and inspired the poem that I've already shared with you called 'Give Me The Horizon'. This one is the very first. The SONG.

Don't Say Goodbye

V1.
I wept again for one who already died.
I walk away as lilies cover
My forgotten brother.
I know it is time to say goodbye.

Enlightened by the thought that I
Leave danger behind me.
How quiet it became
When I said goodbye.
(To C.)

C.
Nevermore running, no need to hide.
But I know how hard it is, saying goodbye.
Saying goodbye. Leaving it behind.
All the memories, the adventures we had.
Killing the good, to escape the bad.
Why did I leave it all behind?

V2.
Laugh about it now. Don’t begin to cry.
Forget about it all.
Let ignorance break your fall.
Never say goodbye.

C.
Nevermore running, no need to hide.
But I know how hard it is, saying goodbye.
Saying goodbye. Leaving it behind.
All the memories, the adventures we had.
Killing the good, to escape the bad.
Why did I leave it all behind?

V3.
I don’t think I can stand the guilt inside.
What’s past isn’t gone.
But I still must journey on!
Still cherish that last goodbye.
I bid you all farewell.
The river no one can tell
Where it may take me.
I follow the stars,
Praying they point me home.
Please let it be,
I find a place to call my own.

C.
Nevermore running, no need to hide.
But I know how hard it is, saying goodbye.
Saying goodbye. Leaving it behind.
All the memories, the adventures we had.
Killing the good, to escape the bad.
Why did I leave it all behind?

V4.
The dusk is falling.
The moon ends this day.
The river is calling.
I will sail away.
Forever I will hold
The memories of you.
May you always be told
My heart will always be true.

(To C.)
Always and forever
I will hold the mem’ries of you.

Weeeeeeeeeell, I hope that you enjoyed that and that you don't mind the sloppy meter and rhyme scheme I used... Hey! You learn along the way, really. I wrote this for a pirate story and it is sung in Captain Hook's narrative (not that he really actually sang it in the story). It's a really interesting story that I plan to revamp and post sometime in the near future. Nevertheless, have a happy week, my AP fellows!

I love this.

Just a warning (to you and all on AP): I will be leaving later today (it's 2am) and won't be back home until Monday night. Political conference, here we come!! So I'll be super slow about (if not totally void of) all things ApricotPie. This conference I'm going to is a group of us working on a bill to abolish human abortion, so please be praying that God's work is done, His gospel is spread, and that we speak in grace and humbleness. I want the people of my state to look at us and see not a group of people, but to see Christ. May God be glorified.

I don’t thrive off of chaos: chaos thrives off of me.
