Essays, papers, tons of ‘em!
Quizzes, tests due, loads of ‘em!
A Punnett Square to fill-
A new formula to find.
Got no time to kill-
Am I officially losing my mind?

Crammed in my bedroom,
I battle procrastination.
Lunch break should be soon,
But I’m held back with frustration.

Finish eating, ‘cause Algebra is next!
My stomach stops, drops, and rolls,
And my mind is very vexed!

In rolls co-op, where I get to see my friends
Bent hastily over worksheets,
How I wish school would end!

“God, help me cope with this,” I say.
It at first was little, but then I began to pray.
“Your suf’ring was worse than mine,
And you ne’er complained, not as much as I.

“Sometimes I feel foolish,
Coming to You as now,
Knowing You endured more,
And I’ll have to ask, ‘How?’”

Life isn’t so hard,
It’s just what I make of it.
School’s not useless,
It’s just what I take from it.

Well, I’ll have to finish this selfish student’s prayer,
As I have some work to do.
And, teachers, just to clear the air,
We really appreciate you!
