Lullaby

Submitted by Madalyn Clare on Tue, 01/30/2018 - 23:37

Little child, gazing by,
Hope is light, way up high.
Watch the stars fade and grow,
Waning fear, waxing hope.

Little child, lulling eyes,
Hope is here, no disguise.
Watch the moon, smiling down,
Sleeping then, guarding now.

Little child, wond’rous face,
Hope is calm, noise disgraced.
Watch the sky, standing still,
Joyful hush, soundless thrill.

Little child, gather blue,
Hope is perfect, hope is you.

This is a little something I wrote for a novel that (hopefully!!!) I'll be publishing. Just a memory in the back of my main's mind.

Brighid: hint hint it's Namara!

Somehow this reminds me of something I just can't recall...something I've heard once before...
Anyways, it's beautiful and sweet. I love its childlike simplicity. --that's a complement, by the way! Thank you so much for posting this piece. I have to say, it's really peaceful and lulling--a perfect lullaby.

Thanks, Libby!
Yay! I wanted that feeling of nostalgia, that simplicity you can't quite place, that makes one think about their childhood.
I wrote this to the tune of 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star', just as a side note.
