An Adventure at the Mall

Just one of my very first writings...

Date of Event: February 21st 2011

A few hours at the mall once in a while is okay, but can you imagine eight hours? Imagine, spending eight hours in a crowded mall when you could be home doing anything you like. Well, yesterday, I had to go to the mall to go buy mattresses, bed sheets, and some comforters from Macy’s. Just that day, I had wanted to stay home and watch, “Anne of Green Gables.”

“Well,” I consoled myself, “It won’t take that long, I can always watch when we get home.”
But in the morning, we all got a late start. Instead of the plan to leave the house at ten, we left two hours later-twelve.

After deciding what mattresses to buy, it was one ‘o clock-
lunchtime. So we ate lunch at the food court. After satisfying our hunger, mommy, Rachel, Elena, and I went to the Lego Store while daddy went to the Walking Company to get some shoes.

Then, by the time daddy finished buying his shoes, we all decided to buy some ice cream. Rachel got a smoothie, I an ice cream, and Elena an ice cream sundae,
Finally, we went to the store we were originally headed for: Macy’s. In Macy’s, mommy spent a lot of time buying mattress pads and things like that.

By the time we finished, it was 8:00p.m. We decided that it was too late to go home to eat. So again, we had to eat in the food court.

By the time we completed eating, it was 9:00 p.m. So we headed home.

We did get to watch “Anne of Green Gables.” But we didn’t know it was so long. We watched till a quarter to one in the morning. It was a good movie. But that’s a different story.

After shopping for eight hours, I‘ve decided that I don’t want to go to a mall ever again.

Haha--wow! That's so long! I don't really care for the mall in the first place, so spending eight hours there would probably fry my brain! LOL! It seems you came out unscathed, though, except for having an aversion to malls. Haha!

Good essay!

Yikes! EIGHT WHOLE HOURS!!! I can't even do two! Goodness gracious, I can hardly stand shopping in Walmart for thirty minutes! My brain would have definitely been friend, my legs would have hurt and I probably would have been crying after the four hour marker! Gracious goodness!  I solute your bravery! *solutes*
