My Love

Where you lay in the soft dirt, Where we laid you so long ago, My heart so badly hurt, As I watched you go down. I wanted to lift the lid, And kiss your soft cheek, But I knew that you were forever hid. Now I see how much you really loved me, Now I see how much I really loved you, A rose fading atop ye, A song rises from my lips, A song of sorrow, of pain, Of loss, and of gain. Of you, of you, of you! How sad it 'tis to think of ye, So cold and so dead, I want you to rest your head on me, To tell me that you love me, But, aye, 'tis never going to happen again, Nay, never again, ye'll sin, Aye, for in the heavens above ye are. 'twill never have tears again, Never see your face again, Never hear your words of love, Nay, 'tis over, over, forever. I swear I'll never love again --- (sposed to be sort of humorous) Aye, I shall meet thee some day again. Love, love, my love.
