Tears

What is this ugly world
That everyone inside
Feels the brokenness
Of every single tear that's ever cried?

With every salty pool
That overflows its bounds,
Rivers of despair
Flow down the bed that of all sorrow sounds.

The only steady ground
Is the Holy Word.
Nothing makes sense
Unless the voice of God himself is heard.

If you will only heed
The Spirit's living fire,
Sobs of joyful hope
Will be the song we sing with heaven's choir.

This life, of course, still pains
Our hearts with every beat
Yet, I know that God
Will stay with me to keep me on my feet.

I'm weeping tears of life—
Happiness and pain
Pouring from my soul
Until my eyes are dried out once again

This was inspired by the mix of pain and joy we often have when we weep. Comments and criticism are very welcome.

Girl. I felt these words right in my heart. In this season of life I have been crying hard and long, nearly on a daily basis. This is a perfect sum of the quality of tears. Thank you for that.

I don’t thrive off of chaos: chaos thrives off of me.

Libby, I love this SO much! It rings so true and it was so beautifully written! Lovely job writing this! Thank God that our lives our filled with hope because of Him!

C.S. Lewis ~ "He died not for men, but for each man. If each man had been the only man made, He would have done no less."

Thank you girls so much <3 Tears have made up much more of my time this last year than they ever did before. God has been teaching me so much, but at the same time, it sometimes just hurts unbearably. Knowing that you both could relate was neat. Thank you for just being the encouraging sisters you are <3
