Grandpa and Grandma

Taking a walk or hike won’t matter,
Her happiness will never shatter.
Reading poems for a talent show,
Makes her face turn all aglow.
She’s my Grandma, yes it’s so
My Grandpa wed her long ago.
Sixty years they’ve spent together
In hot, in medium, or in cold weather.
Grandpa dunking in the river,
I remember seeing him shiver.
He makes burgers on the grill,
And each day he takes a big pill.
He knows all kinds of plants and trees,
And to his flowers come lots of bees.
Grandpa taught me many things,
About trees, critters, or beasts with wings.
Grandpa and Grandma have influenced me,
To share God’s Word, and that’s the key.

So glad to see you're posting :) You did a good job depicting Grandpa and Grandma -- I can see them in my mind as I read this. Keep writing!

"Trials teach us what we are; they dig up the soil, and let us see what we are made of."
- Charles Spurgeon

"He makes burgers on the grill..." Ah, the fond memories of charcoal and ashes!

"My greatest wish for my writing is that it would point you to the Savior."

This is beautiful! I love the joy in the simple things of life. :) it reminds me of my own grandparents. My grandparents are coming up on their 64th wedding anniversary. :) God is so good.

I don’t thrive off of chaos: chaos thrives off of me.

It's so good to see you posting Libby, and I loved reading about our Grandparents. It's too bad they couldn't come down this Christmas. I miss them.

I hope you keep posting more!
