Forget Me Not

Forget me not, my friend.
Don't let me slip away
Though the time we shared was brief
As a winter day.

Please remember, my friend.
Won't you smile, even now,
As you remember all those nights
Before our final bow?

Miss me not, my friend,
Although I have missed you.
Just don't let me slip away
As the night stars do.

Beautiful, sad - but a little confusing.  What's going on?

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

This poem is about being seperated from someone that you love/once loved (as a friend, or otherwise). There's (at least for me) always a nagging fear of being forgotten or replaced. Of course you want to other person to be happy. But you still want them to remember you. It's kind of a conflicting feeling, I guess.

does that make sense?

This is really pretty :) I love your explanation of it, by the way.
