Poems I Left Laying Around

Submitted by Keri on Tue, 03/30/2010 - 15:43

Every once in a while, I write poetry straight from my head and leave it where I wrote it when i'm writing an e-mail or in the message board. These are some of them that I have picked up off the ground of whereI left them. Now I dust them off and put them in the china cabinet of works that is apricotpie.com in no apparent order,

I wish to steal the sky
I really, really, try
I reach and reach
A lesson tries to teach
Only God can posses something so high

Can you feel it?
I can feel nothing

Do you know it?
I can know nothing

Can you hear it?
I can hear nothing

Do you smell it?
I can smell nothing

Can you taste it?
I can taste nothing

Do you see it?
I can see nothing

If you can and do, will you help me?
I can rely on no one else

This was an attempt to comfort a guy friend of mine. It's from HIS perspective. Not mine. Just wanted to clarify, yeah.

I walked home
Alone
I saw her there
Alone too

We talked of things irrelevant
I wanted to speak of my love

I stayed silent though all my soul yearned to speak
But I was scared, frightened
By all the possibilities

What if I told her and she laughed?
What if I told her and she cried?
What if I told her and she said I was fool?
What if?
What if?

I wish that I had spoken
And I now I curse myself
I call myself a coward
But I was just scared, frightened
By all the possibilities

I wishes

That fishes

Who swim in the sea

Will go far away and just leave me be

They were all so serious, and then I read the last one, and almost laughed out loud.  I love them, Keri dear.   Good job.

Thank you. Wow I didn't realize that nearly all of them are so very, very dismal. Hmm, maybe I should see a shrink :P

Oh they're marvelous, Keri!!!! I wish I could write poetry like that...

That comment up there was from me! Not that Kendra doesn't think that too of course :P
