Forgiving myself,
It’s hard.
I know the feeling
Of Condemnation,
Of Shame
The sting of sin in our own lives
Reminding us of whom we are
Whom we tell ourselves that we are:
Unworthy
Repeated failures
Not fixable
Trash
These lies I’ve pinned
To myself,
Some longer than others.
But one thing we must do
One thing I must do
If I’m ever to embrace
God’s forgiveness
His true, real, wonderful
Forgiveness,
I have to forgive myself
I have to.
If I don’t, the lies remain
If I don’t, the lies overwhelm the truth,
If I let it.
But God forgives me
It’s a promise
Do I forgive myself?
Yes, I do
Because He says
I’m worthy,
Made whole,
A precious pearl,
In His sight.
Worth more
Than all the money, fame and glory
This world could ever buy
He forgives me
I forgive myself
That’s enough
I’m free.

Wow, Joy. I can’t believe just how much I related to this piece of poetry. It revealed so many truths of human nature that I really appreciated. It flowed well into the next line and was beautifully cohesive!
My one critique is on something that may have been perfectly intentional. Here you say:

My mind is going to ‘reminding us who we are’, but that’s up to you.
