Chapter 1
The house was beautiful. It was a bit big for two people, but it was so traditionally English looking, Emma and Jennie couldn't pass it up. They didn't realize that two ghosts resided there: one was nice, one was........not so nice.
Settling in was easy for Emma, not so much for Jennie, who was feeling lonely. To make things easier, they got a cat, which they kept in the basement.
It was when Jennie was trying to settle the cat (named Romulus) in his little box that she first heard the whispers.
It sounded like a million voices speaking at once, but one voice stood out. It was male, fairly deep, and it was calling her by name!
"Jennie...Jennie I need you...I need your help..."
Jennie froze. The voices scared her, especially the one that knew her name, but she most frightened by the fact that she half-wanted to find where it was coming from. She wanted to know who needed her help and how he knew her. The sensible side of her took over, and she ran upstairs as fast as her legs would carry her.

She ran straight into her mother. "What on earth.....are you alright?"
She thought about telling her mother what she'd heard, but she know she wouldn't be believed.
"Uh.........there's a mouse in the basement."
Emma looked relieved and a little amused. "Is that all?"
Jennie nodded.
"Well, I daresay Ro will take care of that." Ro was their nickname for Romulus.

That night, Jennie was lying in her room, unable to sleep. She couldn't stop thinking about the whispers and the mysterious voice that knew her name. It kept echoing in her head. The voice sounded oddly familiar, but she couldn't place it. She was puzzling about this when the whispering started again. She didn't hear the familiar
one, though.
The whispering got louder and louder. She started looking around her room wildly. Finally it stopped. She breathed a sigh of relief and took one final look around her room. On the right, she saw the window with the purple curtains. On the left...................she saw a teenage boy with big brown eyes; curly, strawberry blond hair; and a face that looked like it belonged to a fairy.
