Annica Sees- Chapter 7

Submitted by KatieSara on Tue, 08/31/2010 - 16:55

The next day, exactly a fortnight from when she had come to the manor, she left it, wearing the same blue and green dress. One difference was that Aunt Eldira let her get up later than she had for her first journey. Their goodbye was not exactly affectionate, but it was not as cold as their greeting two weeks ago. "Recent circumstances," as Lady Eldira had put it, allowed for some empathy between the two. Eldira was mourning the loss of a friend, and, in a different way, so was Annica. She'd cried herself to sleep the night before over Alton's shocking behavior.

Fear

Mournful howls slice the night’s stillness. I huddle against my King’s robe, shivering in the spring air. My gaze darts back and forth, searching for gleaming green eyes.

“They won’t attack me,” he states. “As long as you stay with me, you’re perfectly safe.”

Hundred of phantom beetles crawl down my spine. My stomach churns like a stormy sea. Snap! A branch cracks.

I whirl towards the sound. Another twig snaps, then a third, till the night is filled with thunderous echoes.

The voices were burly and rough. The chairs were squeaking across the floor. Plates clattered and water was being poured. The heavy collapsing of men into chairs threatened the floor.

Agitation twitched in their voices; fury rose in their tones. Adelaide could distinguish six different voices. One was bawling over the rest in a thick voice.

Fearless

Fear
Telling you to run
Fear
Impossible to shun
Fear
Never letting you try
Fear
Won't tell you the reason why

Fear
It's there, so laugh at it
Fearless

Fear
Keep going in spite of it
Fearless

Fear
Countered with faith...

You are
Fearless.

The Scarred Goddess Chapter 1

You do not know me. I am not your friend, nor your enemy. I am no one’s business. I have no care with anything. All feeling is buried with me, you cannot make me cry, nor laugh, nor strike you in anger. I will tell this story myself. I am called the scarred goddess. You shall know me by no other.

Gods and goddesses are not invincible. They are immortal, but this only serves to create feuding and pain as time goes by.

when my fears
have worn me out
and worn me thin
can I crawl up on Your lap
and fall asleep there
until I can breathe again?

when my dreams
have left me cold
and all alone
can I run into Your arms
and learn to bear it
until I can dream again?

and when my love
breaks my heart
and takes me apart
can I come in close to You
and touch Your wounds
until my pain makes me one with You
and brings me back to life again?

cold stone castle

Submitted by Aisling on Fri, 07/25/2008 - 01:45

Used to be I could see
into the sunset of my future
Everything smiling at me
and just crying "adventure!"
Somewhere between then and now
I caved to fear somehow
Next thing I know he has
stolen my hope from my hands
and I find my dreams
on the ground at my feet
in pieces

And now I'm locked up without even a view
captive, without a hope of finding you

Come find me tonight
I need you to fight for me
If you don't come, nobody will
and I'll be left all alone
in this cold stone castle
