Maybe Eternity

Submitted by E on Mon, 09/02/2013 - 00:00

1. Eternity
If I’m to live forever
I should pray that you will, too
Because, dear God, I wouldn’t want to live
Without, my darling, you

2. It Was a Bad Day
Maybe all these big girl dreams aren’t for me after all
Maybe I wasn’t born to go to college and get married
Maybe I wasn’t made for the usual course
Maybe I was born with wild eyes
Maybe I was born for the road.

Inward Chaos

Submitted by E on Mon, 08/26/2013 - 21:24

1. Inward Chaos
You make me a quiet kind of crazy
Send me into internal turmoil
I don’t think you know
But if you do, you’re good at hiding it

2. Head Over Heels
I’m enraptured by every part of you
They say eyes are a reflection of a person’s soul
If that’s the case, yours is beautiful
I’ve never met someone like you
I don’t think I will again.

On the Horizon

Submitted by E on Sun, 08/18/2013 - 23:17

1. Summer Wine
My dreams still taste like summer and wine
Vivid flashes of sunsets and freedom
I looked out into the horizon and remembered
The words you whispered in my ear too many years ago
And I smiled.

2. On the Horizon
Vivid wild taste of freedom
Open my eyes to a never ending horizon
If this is what the future looks like
I can’t get there fast enough

3. Bliss
You make me forget
Who I am
And who I want to be
I’m someone else entirely
I think I might like it

Once in Our Glass Jungle

Submitted by E on Fri, 07/26/2013 - 20:19

1. The Hunger
I was starving when you found me
Maybe that’s why I ate with such ferocity
Lapped you up with my eyes
Savored every bite with my heart
You let me in for a while
Then you made me spit you out
You knew it wasn’t right
And, in my hungry little soul
I knew that you knew best

A Hunt in the Woods

Submitted by j. Glen pollard on Thu, 07/11/2013 - 01:23

I usually go hunting in the woods. I run through the white-picket fence that is in my backyard. I have my pure wooden bow in my right hand. It is made I out of red oak tree.
I wear black rubber boots just in case there is a thunderstorm and black and brown colors for camouflage. Birds chirp and salmon jump in and out of the clear, blue water, trying to swim upstream. I finally spot a red squirrel, but it quickly runs up a tree. I grunt, throw the bow over my shoulder, and start climbing the huge tree.

Ocean Song

Submitted by E on Wed, 07/10/2013 - 17:59

1. I want to die on a beach
I want to die on a beach
Alone, the rain will pelt my smile
The tide engulfing my outstretched arms
The sand will wrap me up like a cocoon
When the lightning strikes, I will remember my life as it once was
The ocean will take my body and I will swim amongst the whales.

What Nothing Can Describe

Submitted by Susannah on Sun, 06/30/2013 - 21:53

I'm not much of a poet, but I really felt like writing poetry. Hope you like it.

I stand here, all alone,
With darkness all around.
Yet even in this nothingness
I hear a little sound.

I hear you whisper in my ears,
I hear you laugh, I hear you cry.
A feeling wells inside my heart
That nothing can describe.

I feel Death coming nearer;
I don't know what to do.
And in that very second,
I know that I need you.

Constant Movement

Submitted by Lucy Anne on Wed, 04/17/2013 - 16:38

Something I wrote just now for Grammar. :)

~~~~
Gurgling, bubbling, rushing stream
Racing over rocks and me
Slipping under a twister so very
White and liquid foamy.
Head-on collision – oh what shall we do?
We tear away – so very quickly to notice.
Twisting right, then left, and finally straight
Down and – slam! – disturbing once still waters.
She and the Flame
Submitted by E on Tue, 04/16/2013 - 05:03
1. No More Drama
Reflecting back, it seems so silly
All of the whining and the drama
It leaves an ache of embarrassment in my chest
But then I reflect further
Then I reflect deeper
And then I recall all the things that I felt.
2. The Flame
Let the flames lick the sky
Faces reflected, going down into the embers
It’s only certain things that set my heart on fire
Just before gets choked out by the smoke
3. The Sky is Falling
