Chapter Seventeen

We both looked through the gate once more. The street was still empty behind us.

“How long will it take to cross the mountains to this side of the City, if we are on the other?” I asked. He answered me slowly:

“Two days if we do not halt and keep a running pace.” I shook my head. I did not think we could spare that much time. Yet we were wasting it now. I looked away from everything, and pictured in my mind the course of the streets within Hethwenthor.

Embers

Cold stone floor
And withered leaves
The night was brooding
O’er the wind

Flames were weary
Mist all gathering
Caught in twilight
Breaths all thin

A web of dust
Laid on stone
The spider coughed
And crawled alone

The stars were crowns
Waiting while watching
The leaves swinging
In the night whispering

Blue the new moon
And bitter his song
Sung by the gulls
Or the owls on the bough

There it is

i tell of a time when all singing and dancing ceased.

the turmoil was brought by the threat of a monstrous beast.

no longer did children play, a silence engulfed the town.

they needed a hero who could bring the great monster down.

the hero rode up on a horse that was black as day.

he fully intended to drive the terrible beast away.

he drew out a sword and he shouted a challenge out:

"beast, i give warning, i'll meet thee and smash thy snout."

the dragon laconically twisted its tail and hissed:

Chapter 14

Nordic Malushomo sat on his horse, waiting.

And a bird that had apparently flown too close to the sun rudely interrupted his waiting.

As Alegis arrived on the scene, Nordic was swatting wildly at the fireball of a canary.

So he put him out of his misery.

Not dead mind you, but out cold.

Shortly after these proceedings there arrived Sora and Nomen, panting hard.

The Legend of Time

Arvindian Version

In my world, much as on earth, there are certain myths that are common to all the countries, though with noticeable variations. On earth, we have creation and flood 'myths', all stemming of course from the great Truth of the Creation and Flood. We also have 'tales' such as Cinderella, which can be found in many different variations in almost every culture of the world. In just the same way, the legend of Time is found in all the southwestern part of the world dimension of Heszeret, and possibly elsewhere.

My companion stood against the wall next to the gate, so as not to let the light of the windows upon him. I began edging nearer to the wall’s end. Looking down the streets, I saw nothing but the crisscrossing of shadows and light. I strained my ears to hear any other sound than the melody of the waters. There was nothing but my own breathing. I glanced behind for just a moment. The ivy still hung lifelessly and the water was still faintly seen in the dark. I wanted to speak, but I waited a little longer.

Amira-Part Two

Well, I began this soon after finishing Amira, but sort of got stalled on it. I just couldn't seem to get back into the story. However, I tried again today, and it seemed to flow easily. Here it is, and I hope ya'll enjoy it! Also, I thought I had made the name Amira up, but I looked it up and found that it's some sort of Arabic name (I think). But it's pronounced differently. Instead of Uh-my-ruh (my pronunciation), the Arabic one is pronounced AH-meer-uh.
