A Dream is Just a Dream...or is it? Chap. 15 (a Narnian fan fiction)

Submitted by Lucy Anne on Thu, 07/05/2012 - 00:47

The next morning dawned fair and clear.
At the crack of dawn, I awoke. Judging from the absolute silence, I knew that no one else except for a few creatures (who were strolling in the castle grounds) and I were awake.
I glanced over at Lucy and Susan who were sleeping peacefully in their beds a few feet away.
Deciding to take a walk to the balcony, I slipped into a silky gown with the shade of pink daisies.
The halls were hauntingly quiet.
I had no idea where I was going so I found myself to be traipsing around.

Silver Caged Tragedy

Submitted by Elaine on Sun, 05/13/2012 - 04:54

(This poem tells a story of a girl who works as a slave at a wealthy but evil household. They make her life a living hell. So she decides to escape, but not before taking her revenge. The "silver cage" refers to her environment. Beautiful house, gorgeous garden, amazing art on the walls and all that jazz. But she is dying to escape.)

As the ivory white tiles glowed
The cashmere curtains fluttered
In the ghastly winter wind that blew
The fragile maids' teeth chattered

Sparrow

Submitted by Hannah W. on Thu, 05/10/2012 - 16:51

Am I to be a spider, laying traps
casting nets
spinning webs—
always hungry,
and never speak—
until my hair is silver as my thread?

I think I should be instead
a careless sparrow, and fly where I may
and land where I please.
Be plain-feathered and plain of song
so none will wish to cage me.

But I will let myself be tugged down
by gravity, or bread.
And I will perch in hand or bush
and be still when I will and have my peace
and be fed.

Skycanyon

Submitted by Aalen Fideli on Wed, 04/04/2012 - 23:38

Two boys stand at the edge of a cliff.

Both are holding Skyboards.

Mike jumps off the edge, angling his V-Foil at a point on the horizon. Feelo follows on an AerTwin.

"Wanna try to make Nightreach by dark?" Mike calls, his voice nearly drowned in the wind.

"And do some walls at Shadowrift in Afterlight? Yeah!"

Both boys skim the edge of a thermal and dive toward the wall of the canyon.

Feelo ducks and glides under Mike's board.

The Tale of Modeñia: Chapter One

Submitted by Arthur on Wed, 02/29/2012 - 07:37

There was once a rich and powerful kingdom called Modeñia. The King of Modeñia’s name was Karshë; he was peace loving, and a good ruler. In fact, his passion for peace was so strong, it blinded him to the looming danger. For, when war threatened, he went to the enemy himself to ask for peace, not understanding that the enemy did not want peace, and failing to first prepare a defense...

This is the sad story of the Kingdom of Modeñia, and of the brave Prince Zobed. This is my story, the faithful friend and servant of Prince Zobed.
