Thieves: Chapter 10

Submitted by Elizabeth Anne on Fri, 09/07/2012 - 20:18

Okay, so I've figured it out. Every time I promise to get something up quickly, something happens and it doesn't get on here for weeks. So, I'm really sorry that I haven't posted this until now, and I'm really sorry for how much I apologize. Also, I promise not to make promises in my posts again anytime soon. Okay, so that's a little exaggerated, but I at least will stop promising to get the next bit up soon and hopefully it will happen anyways. :) (See my logic?) DREAM ON READERS- I would have posted some chapters from Dream On this week, but I have hit a bit of writers block.

Thieves: Chapter 9

Jovlin was still looking out of the window when something zoomed past her so fast that she couldn’t really see what it was. At first she thought it must be a giant bird, because she was certain she had felt the touch of feathers on her face as a wing passed her, but it was much too big for a bird. Suddenly, the sky was full of brightly colored flashes, flying through the air as if chasing the wind. They swooped around, chasing each other with such speed that they could not clearly be seen. Each was a different color, each seemed a different size.

The Thumb Drive

The following is a true story. I am writing this mere minutes after it happened. I am a musician. I do most, if not all of my work on a computer. I keep a lot of information and samples and other important things on a thumb drive. The thumb drive is an HP, model FD USB drive. I've customized it by gluing a broken Shift key to the front. Yesterday I went to the visitation for my great-grandmother's funeral. I had the thumb drive in my pocket then.

They were in there again. Dancing... in her ballroom. Millie took a deep breath. She stood in the hall just outside- although the sun had only just set, the dancing was already in full swing. She hadn't danced yet, and didn't feel like it, despite the fact that there were many desirable partners. Somehow, she didn't feel like joining them. Louise would have giggled and said that the absence of a certain Doctor had something to do with her listlessness, and laughingly Millie would have objected. Half-heartedly, of course, because she knew in her heart that was the reason.

There are few moments more awkward or unbearable than that which a young man inquires if a lady should share the saddle with him. Oh odious predicament! Millie and Louise were speechless, and even Anthony started to feel that he had said something out of place. But no, that did not prevent him from extending his hand to help her up into the saddle behind him. Millie was about to blather an excuse when Louise stepped closer to Anthony with a bright look on her face.

The five deities of Arpag sat at the Great Table. They were about to set forth a new world. The god Kenline spoke: "Friends, we do here set about a new world. Dream On: Chapter 1

Submitted by Elizabeth Anne on Mon, 06/18/2012 - 01:04

Chapter One: Dream Land Drames had always been curious as to how the Dream Land actually looked, but his unspoken fears overruled his curiosity. Now, he glances around and glimpses… nothing. There is nothing to be seen in front of him. There is nothing to be seen anywhere. Then, out of nothing, a light appears in the far reaches of the Dream Land. Drames squints his eyes, straining to see past the nothingness and into the light which steadily grew larger.
