Tass: The Epilogue

The wedding dress was blue, trimmed in silver. A blue ribbon ran through her hair, and a silver circlet rested on her head. The bouquet was of white lilies, and a silver necklace with a single sapphire hung on her neck. A veil of silver covered her face
“You're beautiful,” one of her attendants, an older woman named Nenah, assured her. “Perfect.”
Nenah led her to a room next to the chamber where a hundred people sat, waiting for her entrance, waiting to watch the wedding of their prince.
Rynere was nervous, scared. She wasn't ready. She wasn't.
An arm slipped around hers, and Rynere was guided toward the door. The arm supported her down the rows of staring men and women, down to where Kyndran stood. He was dressed in formal clothes, standing absolutely straight, but he was smiling at her.
The arm led her to Kyndran's side, and hands lifted the veil, folding it back over her head. Then the shape stood beside her as she and Kyndran became man and wife. She was a princess.
They turned to face the audience, Kyndran's arm around her.
And then Rynere saw a motion out of the corner of her eye. The person who had led her down the aisle and lifted her veil, had knelt down, head bowed.
Then he looked up.
A small scream escaped Rynere, and she grabbed Kyndran's arm.
“I had to be here,” Tass winked as he stood up. “Or I wouldn't be able to say ...happens every time.”

I will not take any credit for the reappearance of Tass because ...was it a reappearance? Or was Rynere simply seeing and hearing things? That would not, by the way, be an unprecedented occurrence.
So what's your ending? Is Tass still dead, so you can hunt me down and attack me with a rooster? Or is he alive, so that you can rejoice and I can continue breathing too? Your choice.

So, basically, when you hadn't updated this for ages ... upon ages ... upon ages ... I sort of forgot about it. I just read this whole thing through in about an hour, and I loved it to pieces! There were so many parts that made me laugh, and Tass's death was just as traumatic this time around :( I loved this story, and you deserve an award for writing such an amazing thing.

I just read your whole story this morning, and absolutely loved it! This is the type of fantasy that I could devour and enjoy by the hour. I love the plot twist at the end, and I'm glad that Kendran is actually the prince. :)
I'll have to go back and read all of your other posts!

I don’t thrive off of chaos: chaos thrives off of me.

So I was wrong about Kyndran. But I find I'm no longer upset about Tass. This feels right.
