Chapter Three
1. And the king was greatly astounded. And he said unto his servants, "Fill thou another room full of straw, and make it four tons of straw."
2. And Leah was again sent unto the room with more straw. And she wept bitterly, for, was there no hope? And would the little man return again? Nay.
3. And as Leah was weeping, the little man came in unto this room also, and said unto her,
4. "Why weepest thou, child?" And she said unto him, "I weep for the king sent me again unto this bigger room to spin hay. And he shall surely slay me if it is not spun by morn."
5. And at this, the maid wept again. And the little man said, "what precious thing dost thou have to give unto me?"
6. And she offered unto him a golden bracelet, and he took it, and bade her sleep.
7. And when she awoke again, he was gone and the straw spun into gold. And she thanked the Lord yet again.
8. And the king again came in the morn and was again astounded, for she had not only done it before morn, but, lo, she had even slept.

VERY funny!! I loved that last verse! :D HahaHA!

I think you are very good at writing with this style, and I want to encourage you as a writer. But I am a little concerned. I don't think it is appropriate to use the Bible to write fairy tales. I know that you don't intend it, but it cheapens the Word of God. I would pick another way to write your fairy tales. If you do so, your stories will be better and more original.
Lucy: Thanks :D Bernadette:
Lucy: Thanks :D
Bernadette: Thank you, I understand what your saying, do you mean, like, make it Bible style, yet not put in the "God" things, like that? :)

actually....
It's perfectly alright to have your characters praying to God, but what I am saying it: don't use the Bible. Don't use Bible style, or write yor fairy tales as if they were some lost story of the Bible. Just write fairy tales. If you do, I really beleive your writing will be even better.
On the contrary, writing in
On the contrary, writing in this old, King James style is making this story extremely interesting to me. I'm enjoying it immensely.

I absolutely agree with
I absolutely agree with Sarah. I admit that I did have some issues at first with whether it was disrespectful or not--but then I realized, There's nothing wrong with writing in the King James language--it is just an old-fashioned way of speaking.
Keep up the good work, Sarah :)
p.s. Is it just me or does anyone notice that when you sign in, there is no more option access the commenting page easily, you can't post stuff, etc?????

I...
I agree that the old fashioned language is fine, in fact I like it. But I what to clarify once again what I meant: what I was concered about is using Bible stories, characters, and settings to write fairy tales.
weeell
well, maybe it is a liitttle disrespectful to say that King Solomon had a ball or something like that............

I still don't see why it
I still don't see why it would be disrespectful. People write biblical fiction all the time and very few people have an issue with it. eg: Veggie Tales, or the Dawid series.
If you don't like it, don't read it. Let the rest of us enjoy her excellent writing without giving her a guilt trip.

...
In my heart, I really don't think this is disrespectful.....but I believe strongly with All of my heart that VEGGIE TALES are disrespectful to the Word of God!! They make fun of everything! And changes so many things around till it becomes ridiculous.
Sarah A., please don't feel guilty because of us....
