Just Another Day

Submitted by Raine on Tue, 11/01/2011 - 17:56

just a day like any other

morning dawns gray, cold

feet pad across carpted floor

teeth brushed, hair combed

kettle whistles, pour the tea

curl up now with mug in hand

read a moment,

rest head on book

doorbell sounds, time to dash

into the frosted, chilly air

into car going down the road

work and play fill the air

one french course--done

next comes lunch and then

off to work

in a busy rush, work slides by

then home again

to a warm bowl of soup

and the waiting book

night falls soon

ending this day

a day i will remember

just like any other.

This was lovely!  It had such a nice, cozy, easygoing feel.  I also admire how you captured such a smooth flow...just like the passage of time. :)  Wonderful job.
