if you could look into
the silence between
your words and mine
what would you see--
a widening distance
between your heart
and mine
it is those strange feelings
you know--
the ones we have no words for.
the way your stomach drops
all the way to your toes
at your lovers smile--
the feeling of looking at all
the stars when your breath
catches behind your heart.
and is there enough space
left between the heartache
from past lives lived
and the never ending normalcy
of dirty dishes and shift work
for me to curl up next to you
and take residence in your heart
because all i can see is the
clutter of my own mind
and all i can hear is my own
noisy doubts
my uncertainty is too much
so i am leaving invincible doubt
behind in the middle of the alley
behind my house
packing my hope along with a
little faith, and one last look
before i go
--perhaps it will not find me
--perhaps i can start again
building invincible belief

This is so lovely. Your
This is so lovely. Your imagery is incredible.
"the feeling of looking at all
the stars when your breath
catches behind your heart." I could feel that sensation.
Honestly, I could copy and paste the whole poem as my favorite part.

Ditto to Erin, this is the loveliest thing. Vivid, alive, yet sort of calm and reflective.

My favourite. That is, unless I could select the whole poem, like Erin ;)
