The Things You Said To Me

Submitted by paperpoet on Tue, 05/04/2010 - 15:36

The sweetest things you said to me
What my heart wanted to hear
Your words like cotton candy
Were suger to my ears

The most beautiful things you said to me
That made my soul delight
Your words were like a candle
That gave the darkness light

The silliest things you said to me
Just to make me smile
About clouds being elephants
And a little bird named Lyle

The saddest things you said to me
Like when you said "Good bye"
Or "I never meant to hurt you,
I'm sorry I made you cry."

Of all the things you've said to me
Be them silly or true
The ones I'll always treaure most
are
The three words: "I love you."

WOW! I loved this one! This is my favorite style of poetry! My favorite lines had to be the last part:

Of all the things you've said to me

Be them silly or  true

The ones I'll always treasure most are

The three words: "I love you."

Like I said, so good! Keep posting more!

This was beautiful. It had such a wonderful flow to it.... I loved it. :)

Aha, it IS you! You should have said something on TG so I knew you were here! Anywho, lovely poem dear. :) Pretty much ditto to the others who have commented.
