Once upon a time, there was a boy who lived in the town on Cambridge. His name was Timmy. Cambridge was a very small town and the school where Timmy went was even smaller. There were only about one hundred students at his school and there was one kid in particular that had given Timmy trouble from the very start. Jimmy Sizzle.
The teachers almost always stayed inside during recess because, in this small town, watching the television was probably the most exciting thing to do. So recess was the best time for Jimmy to antagonize younger students. One day during recess, Jimmy was making his rounds at the playground pushing kids in the dirt, stealing lunch money, the usual. Timmy was sitting innocently on the swing set, but he knew that this peace would not last. He saw Jimmy Sizzle and his faithful followers coming nearer. Then suddenly he had an idea! He got up from the swing set and started running around the playground getting everybody’s attention. Soon everyone had gathered around Jimmy and Timmy. Of course Timmy was improvising, as there were only a few minutes until recess was over and he would be in the safety zone for a few hours. But Jimmy was coming closer and Timmy knew that he had to do something quick. Suddenly, Timmy had an excellent idea. “I will make you a bet,” said Timmy, loud enough for everyone to hear it. He knew that Jimmy could not turn down a bet in front of everybody. Then Jimmy replied, “Oh yeah? Tell me what it is.” Now it was Timmy’s turn to think. So he just said the first thing that popped into his head. “You have to…stick a penny up your nose.” The whole school stopped and starred at Timmy like he was a freak of nature. “What’s in it for me?” responded Jimmy. “If you can’t do it, you have to never bully anyone around again. If you succeed, you can do whatever you want to us all summer.” A puzzled look came across Jimmy’s face, but disappeared just as fast. Timmy knew Jimmy never backed down from a challenge. Just then the bell rang. Jimmy had the last word. “That’s fine. Meet me after school by the flag pole.” And so it was settled. When the final bell rang signaling the end of school, Timmy walked down the hallway, which seemed like an endless path, toward his final doom. He didn’t have to look very far to see where Jimmy was. Practically the whole school was there surrounding him. This one move could either make Timmy a legend, or he would suffer for the rest of his life. He had a feeling that it was the latter of the two. Timmy approached the circle and then Jimmy broke the silence. “So are you ready to be tortured all summer?” Timmy’s mouth was too dry to answer. One of Jimmy’s followers came from behind and gave him a penny. Timmy didn’t say anything, but he noticed that the penny looked really green. Jimmy didn’t look so tough anymore as the penny got closer to his nose. He was struggling a lot and it seemed like he was never going to get it up there! Timmy was evening beginning to get hopeful. After a few minutes, Jimmy was halfway there. Everybody watched in silence until they could no longer see the penny. Jimmy gave everybody a huge grin. “HA! I told you I could get it up there.” That was it. Timmy’s plans for summer were gone. Everyone started clapping and patting Jimmy on the back. Then Timmy had an excellent idea! He waited until everybody calmed down and then he focused on Jimmy. Before he could say anything, Jimmy beat him to it. “So after you’re done with my laundry, you can clean my room, and then…” However, he never got a chance to finish the sentence because Timmy cut him off. “So tell me, how are you going to get it out?” That question was his last hope, if it didn’t work, nothing else would. The whole student body was focused on Jimmy now. He tried to get it out by doing everything he could. He started to shake his head and even tried to sneeze, but all that effort didn’t work. It was evident that the penny was not going to come out easy. After a few seconds of trying to get the penny out, Jimmy’s cheeks turned as red as a cherry. At that instant he started running! His friends trailed close behind him. Without warning, some students picked up Timmy and the rest of the school started applauding! They were chanting Timmy’s name! He had no more Jimmy to worry about, at least not for now. The rest of the school year went by and so did summer, and Jimmy Sizzle was never heard from again.Genre
