Ahhh, there’s nothing like a good Coke and a Fall Out Boy song. Apart from trying to figure out what the lyrics they’re singing mean, it’s also often difficult to hear what exactly they’re saying. Nevertheless, Fall Out Boy is EPIC.
  The title of the song (“Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown On a Bad Bet”) refers to the former Major-League Baseball player Pete Rose, who was famous for sliding headfirst, and was kicked out of baseball because he bet on the games. Pete Rose will most likely never be in the Hall of Fame, which is located in Cooperstown, thus the title makes more sense.
  Now to the lyrics. The song is about a man who’s lover is cheating on her husband with him. The man who is married to the woman obviously doesn’t care since the lover’s man is questioning the husbands observant quality when saying:
”Does your husband know the way that the sunshine gleams from your wedding band?”
  He also accuses by saying,” Does he know the way you worship our love?” In this, he’s referring to the love triangle between the woman, her husband, and himself.
  The woman’s lover is trying to convince himself she wouldn’t cheat on him (like she does with her husband), but in away she’s cheating on both of them. This meaning is found when you look closely at the lyrics:
”I will never end up like him, behind my back, I already am.”
  The woman is basically playing him to get what she wants.
“The last time you came through, Oh, darlin‘, I know what you’re going through.”
  Meaning that she left him to go back with her husband, but then came back to him.
  Some more AMAZING lyrics include:
“Tempest in a teacup, get unique,
Peroxide princess, shine like sharp teeth.”
  As in, the woman is making a mountain out of a molehill.
And in the lyrics,” (I don’t) Just want to be a footnote in someone else’s happiness.”
   In my opinion, this song didn’t failed to impress, maybe because Fall Out Boy doesn’t fail to impress.
