Carrying all the pain and cries
Bringing to God our joys and our pleas
As the billowing smoke upkeeps
It goes to heights unseen by us
But to believe is enough
And for a moment all stands still
Hushing fear, cries, and will
As silently it blows and climbs
It traces our tears within its lines
We sit with calm and close our eyes
To slip with the smoke past space and time
Focusing now on the wounded head
True love’s completion never ends
His bloodied face shows how He cares
And helps us give ourselves into our prayers
