Landmarks of Ballash Road

a place that
I swear
will never be equaled
in beauty or prayer

landmarks
a road
more than a path
it leads to my home

it bends and turns
up and down
more than usual
it has no bounds

the swaying grass
around the curve
whispers my heart
and how it burns

the lakes soft surface
pours and flows
the suns kiss upon its back
all aglow

the farm house
it's roof of tin
the fence and stone
surrounding it

the line of trees
against the sky
pulls from me
my breath and life

I feel the rush
belonging
I long but to touch
the reality

there should be
something to describe
the grace it instills
the peace I cannot deny

for my Father knew
everything it would do to
make my lips smile
and my heart free and moved

I can revel in
the fact that my soul is
being lifted
through creation up to Him

Simple and pretty...I love the picture it paints, of stillness and peace and quiet...
