                                                              Come Back to Me

Come back to me, sweet Jesus,

Come back to me.

My faint cry echoes from the deepest ends of the earth,

O! Come back and set me free!

To go to the light filled land of heaven,

Away from this sinful world,

I long to be with Thee!

It is better than being outwardly beautiful, or having golden hair curled.

I would feel just the slightest pain at being taken to your kingdom,

Thinking of the friends that I'd leave behind,

O! However, just think of

The joy that I would find.

O! Take me home,

Where I will find the greatest joy,

I want to be home in heaven,

O! The peace and joy!

Dirty Dishes

Thank God for dirty dishes

They have a tale to tell

While other folks are hungry

We are so very well

With home and happiness

We should not want to fuss

For by this stack of evidence

God’s very good to us

Even though I don't like dish-doing,

This poem is very true,

Thousands of people are starving now,

Around the world and through it too.

The first poem was on my Microsoft Word file, but I don't remember writing it at all, and the second poem is a peom that I memorized for our family camp up north years ago-but I added the last verse!
