Panes of Sunlight

Submitted by Heather on Tue, 09/13/2011 - 00:17

Outside crisp fall blows

The trees are cold and bare

The orange leaves dance on the ground

But the golden sunshine sprawls

Through my windows to my bed

It brightens the green and white check

The brown and white stripes of my comforter

Cat-like, I curl up

Barefooted, toenails painted flashy amber

In the ultimate comfort of jeans and a t-shirt

With an open book

Spreading worlds before me

I cry and laugh, smile and cheer

As the panes of sunshine warm me

I love it :) makes me long for fall-it had cooled down here but now it's back up to 102 degrees during the day....Your poem was a lovely reminder of what hopefully will come!

Did just that today. It's my favorite thing about fall - the atmosphere for reading!
