Black Tears

She sits and crys, tears sliiping out of her black-rimmed eyes.

They flow down her cheeks, a cascade of silent pleas.

The result of a broken heart, a child that was love starved.

Scarred and cracked, her face no longer perfectly masked,

The tears wash away her facade, and all her makeup slips away

Revealing the frightened little girl, so afraid of the world.

Black rivers drip down her flushed cheeks

as she struggles to contain her muffled moans.

A glimpse into her soul shows the scars of her life,

red and angry, having never fully healed.

Her eys mirror her emotions and thoughts,

silently screaming for a recsuer, someone to save her.

She sits in darkness waiting for a help that never comes

and when the morning dawns she is gone.

And no one remembers her.

She is a fleeting memory, a thought that flits away before it can be grasped,

a gentle breeze on the wind, she came and went, leaving no trace of her life.
