Pure Joy

Pure joy,
so good, so wonderful
just the memory makes my heart soar
I can still feel the wind
as cold as the snow
and the ice all around us
as it rushed through my hair
as I spun around, twirling,
my mind spinning, whirling
reveling in the new revelation
And the yellow light, spilling
from the windows and doors
and the darkness that glittered
with crystal stars up above
Just the sound of laughter,
and the sight of a smile
makes my soul lift even higher
Running, and spinning,
and dancing,
with gladness
The world was so right,
and the lights were so pretty
reflecting on white snow
Snowflakes falling, glittering
Out here it's cold but I never minded it
Everyone was talking, standing all around us
The world so oblivious
to this perfect joy of ours
That I just can't forget,
though those moments are gone
Every time the snow falls lightly on the ground
I'll pretend that you are here
and I'll twirl and dance around
And remember
pure joy

I think this may be my favorite poem of yours so far- and that's saying a lot!

Have you ever thought of becoming a Monthly Writer?

I have hated the words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right. --The Book Thief

Thanks! Well, actually, I'm not sure exactly how to become a monthly writer... but maybe I would.

That was lovely! You write so vividly! Your poem just came to life in my imagination! Keep writing!

If a thread's in a knot, patience will untie it.
Patience can do anything, if you simply try it! (A elderly friend told this to me.)

Oh! This is absolutely lovely! It's a good thing I saw someone commented on it, otherwise I might never have seen it. Oh! You know, this would be lovely as a song. It's kind of vague, and that's what I like in poems and in songs. It's just gorgeous. It flows nicely, and has some good wording and mental pictures. I like a lot (in case you couldn't tell).

Juliette, I love your picture. I like paintings like that. There is a painting that Norman Rockwell did (it's not really the same style, but whatever) of Louisa May Alcott writing in her attic. I thought of using it for my picture, but, ha ha, I just changed my picture (again) and I thought I better wait a little while, at laest.
