They told you not to get all wet,
but who knows why they say?
you pull on a pair of boots
and skip out into the day
The day they said was gloomy,
but who knows what they mean?
all you see is wonder,
a world of gray that gleams
Gleaming with what they must avoid,
but who knows why they do?
You wish that they would listen
and finally know the truth:
That you're supposed to get all wet,
indeed, this must be true,
'cause God made all these puddles
just for jumping through!

Great poem!
The second stanza is so right. Why DO they say it's gloomy, anyway?
