The Other Side

A part of me in flower bloom,
The other part in a sad gloom.
A rooster cries at the break of dawn
Welcoming the sun to our world galore.
Yet, somewhere else, the birds lie
silent and still, to spend the night.
Cars bustle by in the morning light,
Cities wake up and drown a bird's cries.
Yet, somewhere else, a river flows by,
It's surroundings chirping with activity, humming with life.
A boy wakes up to find his parents no more,
He longs for them but they fade away some more.
Yet, somewhere else, a girl radiates light,
Her wedding, it seems is a beautiful sight.
A flower attracts honeybees and butterflies,
They suck the nectar and fly out of sight.
Yet, somewhere else, factories clamber to life,
Machines whir away, emitting clouds out of big huge pipes.
Thunder clashes and lightning strikes
A world of rain ripped apart by light.
Yet, somewhere else, clouds float in the sky,
Gazing down as the desert flies by.
Of guns, of war, of death's toll,
Of innocent getting killed, they have nothing wrong.
Yet, somewhere else, leaders emerge and rise,
To establish the principles of peace and justice right.
Oh, how different we are, how different can we be?
We eat different food and lead different lives.
Yet we all have a heart, we all live with fear and lies,
We transform our world into a paradise.
We all have a beating heart, we all possess a soul,
And for that very reason,
All of us are one even if we are on the other side.

:) Wow...powerful stuff! I like it when you said 'Oh, how different we are, how different can we be? We eat different food and lead different lives. Yet we all have a heart, we all live with fear and lies.' wonderful!
