Dustfinger

Flash There the flames Leap and twirl Wreathing there Whispering in his ear Snap One clever twist Leap and twirl Calling forth Commanding with his hands   Drawing, drawing, drawing Forth from empty air Flame-red fire And, matching, flame-red hair   Sparks Dust his hair Or finger Dancing ‘round Chattering marten-like Smoke Touch the sky With finger Luring fingers Weaving there as sinews   Dancing, dancing, dancing Putting forth his art ‘Neath his smile A broken, aching heart   Fire no more seen And darkness falls Shadows round him close Watchful eyes gleam Juggler without balls And only a fire-rose   Dawn with it brings Only mem’ries of things And ashes on the wind

I love it! It did the perfect justice to Dustfinger.

I love the movie, yet, my brother (who is also a writer and a wise one) said that he couldn't stand reading the book.

Good job! Dustfinger is my favorite Inkheart character. :) I've read all the books but I haven't seen the movie. I'd like to, though, since one of my favorite actors plays Dustfinger.

!! Liked it, Clare! I saw the movie, have yet to read the books, but even though I didn't care much for the movie I thought Dustfinger made a fascinating character. I was rather jealous of the whole fire-juggler thing too. Why do other authors have to come up with the best ideas?!?!? :0)

That was fantastic!!! Finally, a piece dedicated to my favorite Inkheart character. Sadly, I haven't read Inkdeath yet, but I find it best to re-read Inkheart and Inkspell first so that my memory is refreshed (it's been ages since I read them....) I couldn't stand the movie-it didn't even come close to doing the book justice!!!

Mad, mad, mad love.

Thank you, everyone. :)  Dustfinger is just...indescribable.

Ok, re-reading this makes me love it all the more!!! Especially having read Inkdeath now. I read four of the greatest chapters out of any book I have read in a series besides Harry Potter.
