**After watching the regular version of "The Two Towers" in I don't know how long, I decided to write down a few thoughts that came to me while I was watching. You don't have to agree with all that is written, but if you can relate to at least some...well, then you're probably just as nuts as I am. If you'd like, you can add some of your own in your comment. ;D**

You know just the right place to pause on The Two Towers DVD in order to see Arwen fighting in the background of Helm's Deep in her pink dress
You make a comment every time you watch the movies on how Sam gets fatter with each movie
You spend most of your time watching the movies complaining about how the makers ruined them, or how the makers could have done something better; but you love the movies anyway
You love Arwen dearly in the books, but are annoyed that she was in the movies way more than she was supposed to
You celebrate the birthday of Bilbo and Frodo
You act out scenes from both the movies and the books (often from memory)
You cry (or come close) when you finish reading The Return of the King, and spend the rest of the day moping
You ace any and all LOTR online quizzes
You know who the real hero of LOTR is -- it IS a hobbit, but it's definitely not Frodo
Your set of the books is falling apart
You have read The Silmarillion at least once
You have written some piece of writing inspired by LOTR
You know what Middle-Earth name Tolkien's tombstone has on it (and his wife's also)
You describe the actors in the movies as being the characters they play, even when you watch other movies ("Oh look, there's Pippin!")
You can speak some Elvish (or at least know a few words)
You have used "Attercop" and "Tomnoddy" as insults (only in fun, of course, because you can't possibly keep a straight face when you do so)
You have, numerous times, watched for mistakes in the movies
You wish you had hairy feet
You have pretended to be at least one of the LOTR characters
You try to keep a straight face when somebody says that the LOTR Trivial Pursuit is really hard
You like spending your time quoting the books and the movies
You have made an LOTR costume
You DON'T know what happened to Shelob and you don't want to know
You know exactly how long it took for Frodo to complete his Quest
You can name the 13 dwarves
You own the One Ring (or stole it from one of your LOTR board games, like Risk or Monopoly)
You have gotten the words "oliphaunt" and "elephant' mixed up
You almost laughed when you saw the Watcher in the Water because your imagination had come up with something much more horrible
You know Pippin's right when he says of Gandalf and Aragorn "They must be related." (Aragorn is, after all, descended from a Maia.)
and finally....
You plan on going to see The Hobbit movie in costume
You sincerely believe that Middle-Earth is real and you want to go there more than anything else in the whole world
and...

I did agree with some of this but the sad thing is how my brother pointed out that....I've never read the Silmarrilion.....and that me and the rest of my LotR nut friends.........have....never....read....the...books....but I am currently...........

*cough, cough* The first and last time anyone played LOTR Trivial Pursuit with me, almost no one else got a turn. LOL, one of my friends and I had an email game going for a while where we'd ask each other LOTR trivia. I don't think he stumped me once, and we weren't allowed to look anything up.
I've others for you: You've watched the LOTR fanfilm "Born of Hope" about Aragorn's parents...and you can recite Aragorn's and the hobbits' family trees. You wish you could swordfight like Eowyn.
Confessions: I cry every time I read/watch ROTK. My copies of the books ARE falling apart, and I've read them eight times since I was 12 (I'm 20 now). My friends took me to see ROTK in theaters for my Christmas present.

Bridget: Actually, no. You can see Arwen at Helm's Deep in both the regular and extended versions (I'll explain in a moment). Yes, the last phrase was Elvish. "Run with the wind, go with God" is the translation. Thanks for commenting!! :)
Maethorwen: You haven't read the Silmarillion? Oh, you should -- it's soooo good!! It's not a book you can just zip through...there's much to digest...but it's thoroughly satisfying.

Yes! Born of Hope! Did you watch it? If so, what did you think? I thought it was pretty good, considering it was independently made...however, some things got me mad and some parts were kind of stupid. But I love baby Aragorn, he's so cute! I don't think I can recite Aragorn's and the hobbits' family trees...for one thing, I'd get all the cute hobbit names mixed up, like Bungo and Belladonna and Hamfast and Andy and Tolman. ;) And yes, I very VERY much wish I could fight like Eowyn.
Wow, I think you may have read LOTR more than I have! But I'm getting there. ;) I was lucky enough to see ROTK in theaters too...and I also got to see TTT in theaters! I wasn't allowed to see FOTR in theaters though, because my parents thought I was too young.

Laura Elizabeth: Thanks! No, I haven't watched 'National Treasure' but I've heard that Boromir is in it. He's also in "Black Beauty", if you've ever seen that. I've seen Gandalf, Pippin, Frodo, Sam, Legolas, Gimli, Faramir, and Eomer in other movies as well.
Stephanie: You do? Well, now that you mention it, I kind of do to; if only so I know where the beastly thing is so I don't need to worry that she'll sneak up on you at night! (And if she IS dead, I'd like to know that too) :P Oh yes, I did forget the drawing...I'm trying to decide which LOTR character to draw next; any suggestions?

About Arwen's pink dress: Originally, the film makers were going to have Arwen come secretly with the elves to Helm's Deep. She was to wear a pink battle dress and she was going to fight side by side with Aragorn. *gag* (You can actually find pictures online, I've found some myself; even ones where she was fighting.) They actually filmed scenes of Arwen in her pink dress, but then they decided to take out that part of the story after all. HOWEVER, you can still see a glimpse of her fighting in her pink dress at Helm's Deep! Watch closely after Eomer and Gandalf charge down the hill with the eored. There comes a quick shot of Eomer fighting on his horse, and if you watch the background you can see a flash of pink. (You might have to watch the scene a couple times to catch it.) Pause the movie to see it better!

I recently watched National Treasure for the second time, and I spent the first tweny minutes of the movie thinking "Man...I know him from SOMEWHERE..." then he said something and I went "Oh--good grief...that's BOROMIR!!!" LOL
I have another one to add: if you've started an entire forum phenomena called "Outtaking" because you and your similarily obsessed friends used to write hilarious story bits about you inside of LOTR, and if you've attended a birthday party where all the food was middle-earth inspired and you watched the extended editions late into the...well, morning. LOL

That was the year my dad said I was old enough to read the books. I am really glad I read them several times before I watched the movies.

I think you must have watched a different LOTR than I have, because in the version I saw, Arwen didn't have a pink dress, and she didn't fight in Helm's Deep. I am obsessed with it though. But I don't know what the last phrase you posted was. Elvish, I take it? (I'm gonna learn that language someday.) And yes, Middle Earth has to be real somewhere!
