My heart is full

Met upon the meadowland
On the forest’s edge
My love and I, here we stand
The rest of the world abed

The bright, gentle light of the moon
Basks down on the bending grass
Grass tips reflect unearthly bloom
The moon has reached its last
My heart is full

The sky reaches out forever and ever
Starlight unrelenting and unfound
The loveliest life eternally together
Such beauty knows no battleground
My heart is happy

Hand to hand, flesh to flesh
Bodies heat at lightest start
A gentle fire in nights’ darkness
In embrace, head to heart
My heart is warm

This night will not last
The moon will wax and wan
Encroaching dawn will mask the stars
Hands clasped must come undone
Though life has its ups and downs
Times where this night is forgotten
Still, this I ever know:
My heart is happy
My heart is warm
My heart is full
