Mine poem

Mine, eternally true
What is me, has me
but, what is me?
My talents, my traits, my genes?
Or is it what I make of these 3?
Perhaps fortuitously,
time will tell.

I enjoyed this poem! For some reason I found myself giggling and I know that this wasn't made for laughter!!! I dunno why it was funny...
~eMiLy~

I was laughing when I wrote it, although perhaps because I've got a weird sense of humor - I was making a psychology joke (there's a big, long-standing psy debate about how humans develop and whether it's based in our genes or our environment) so I was joking that perhaps by fortune/luck/chance we will find out what makes a person the way they are (rather than by psychology/science)...
Since I was writing it "tongue in cheek" I made the lines short and happenstance, so it makes the verse funny even if the joke inside isn't.

That's funny =D
