The World is Wide

The world is wide with much to see,
And many sights that wait for me.
So many countries near and far,
And some, I don't know where they are.

Rainy Britain, sunny Spain.
I'll get to them by boat or plane.
I'll travel far to see these places,
Brand new cultures, brand new faces.

So many ways to travel there,
By land, by sea, and by the air.
The great wall of China, the Coliseum of Rome.
I'd much rather travel, than sit at home.

The Eiffel Tower, the Taj Mahal.
Buckingham Palace, Lake Baykal.
The world is wide with much to see,
And many sights that wait for me.

Cool poem.

One of my dreams is to travel internationally. Is something like that what inspired this?

Welcome to Apricotpie, btw. :)

I like this poem. All those places are so exotic and mysterious!!!!

I just read your profile and your two poems. Wow. You sound like a twenty-year-old. Your writing style is very mature, and your ability to communicate through writing is beyond your years.

One day, I'll be able to say I knew her way back when...
