So, here's the situation.  I'm in _____ with my brother Sean.  I'm leaving for home in four days, and starting college for real in the fall.  (I did a year, but it was just generals and I'm entering as a freshman in a university.)  As it is right now, I'm majoring in Mechanical Engineering at a very good university.  I have very good grades and a decent head on my shoulders - I could do really well.  I even have a huge scholarship - really something that's too much to give up lightly.  The only problem is...

My hometown has really painful memories for me.  It's hard to get over it, and it's why I left for the summer in the first place.  Also, I want to travel, desperately.  I feel like if I go home and go to school, I'll be roped into a life I don't want.  Maybe if I just got a ticket to Europe, I could manage to hold myself together, get a job, and still do something new.  I love the feeling of being alone, if that makes any sense.

So, the age-old question: Do I do what I want, or what I should?  I'm really terrible at following advice, but I really want it from you guys, since you don't really have any biased opinions in this matter.
