Okay guys, this is based on a true story, but probably most of it will be fiction. Constructive criticism is definitely appreciated. We'll see if I actually finish this one!
Oh and the title might be temporary, I'm not sure. If anyone has better ideas I'd love to hear them.

Anastasia trembled as the soldiers lined her family up by age, her father first in line, carrying her brother Alexei in his arms. Her mother carried her lapdog. The youngest soldier pointed down the bleak hallway and said “March.” And they marched. Anastasia wondered if anyone else’s knees were threatening to collapse. She could hear her mother’s distinctive weeping . Tears were shining on Olga’s face, but she kept her head high. Tatiana stumbled, and one of the soldiers poked her in the back with his gun. Maria looked white and scared. Her father was too far ahead to see clearly, but she could hear Alexei laughing. It was all a game to him.
They all knew this was coming; no one was surprised, although they weren’t certain what was happening for sure. Most likely they were going to be moved from this small house to a yet smaller one in the remotest of “civilized” locations.
Down the hall, turn left, third door on the right. They entered a small, empty room, lit by a lamp hanging from the ceiling. It cast a surreal light across the sight that met their eyes.
Ten soldiers and one officer stood in front of them, hands folded behind their backs. The one in the middle stepped forward and produced a piece of paper.
“Nicholas of Russia, by order of the Ural Soviet of Worker’s Deputies, you are condemned to death for your crimes against Russia, on this 16th day of April in the year 1918.”
He crumpled the paper and threw it to the floor. It landed in front of the Czar’s feet. He looked down at the paper, stunned. “What?”
The statement was repeated. There was a pause.
It had not been a minute when the order came to fire. Anastasia heard her mother scream as the Czar fell, and Alexei with him. Then the screaming was silenced. Bullets zipped by them, making their ears ring. They flew towards them, hitting the diamonds in the girls’ clothes and bouncing back, pushing the girls back by sheer force and killing two of the soldiers firing. They were still firing as they hit the floor, and bullets bounced off the ceiling and ricocheted. Finally the firing stopped. The dog was whimpering on the floor, blood coming out of its ear. The Czar was lying face down on the floor, and a dark stain covered the whole of his back. Alexei was trapped under him, but it wouldn’t have mattered. His face was ripped up and unrecognizable; he was obviously dead. Her mother lay flung out on the floor, her mouth open and her eyes wide in shock. She was dead too.
She and all her sisters had survived.
The dog was trying to roll over onto its feet. A soldier with blood on his sleeve lowered his gun and shot him directly in the head. He jerked uncontrollably for a moment, flailing his legs about in the air. Then his body stiffened and relaxed. His eyes glazed over. The girls stared in horror. Maria threw up on the floor. One of the soldiers cursed as it splattered his boots. And then the order came again.
“Fire!”
Anastasia covered her face with her hands, and then she felt something hit her in the stomach, and she doubled over as the world faded into a dreamy gray.

Yes, I have. I'm trying not
Yes, I have. I'm trying not to make this too much like it. For one, I'm not putting romance in. Not on purpose anyway. If she insists upon falling in love (as long as she's a few years older by that time) I won't be able to do anything about it.
I'm very busy lately, trying to get ready for college and all. I'm trying to write a page a day, but... yeah, it's difficult. I am going to finish it one day though.

Good wow! A little graphic
Good wow! A little graphic (because of your amazingly vivid writing style), but I still like it. You have to post more soon, though!!

wow...yikes
That was amazing, Bridget...I think I've read Anastasia's royal diary. It's pretty sad what happened to them. What did the czar do, anyways?....
Hmm, maybe I should elaborate
Hmm, maybe I should elaborate on his "crimes" when I have time.

And Then?????
LOL--this is one of my favorite stories, Bridget. I hope you finish it.
Have you read "Diamond Secret", by...I think it's Suzanne Wynn?
