Sonatas and binomials
Quadratic Concertos
Scribbled out
handwritten notes
Where's it going?

Beethoven, Bach, Liszt and Brahms
ACT and studying tons
No more guesses, I'm all undone
Where's it going?

Oh Senior year, what's the hurry
I can feel the running time
I swear I'll miss you if you go
running by

Just wait a moment now
just stop and let me see the sky

All my plans and high school dreams
fading into reality
watch it changing
I don't even know
where it's going

Application due yesterday
Sleepless nights and quick changing days
Notebook, pencils, lead on my hands
I'm still going

Oh Senior year, what's the hurry?
I can feel the running time
I swear I'll miss you if you go
running by

Well Maybe,
you could slow down for me?
Oh please,
will you be still for me?
Perhaps,
perhaps then I will see
the path that's in front of me
and say goodbye.

This is a really random song I wrote. Hope you can make some sense out of it. :)

The title is Spanish for 'perhaps'.

Wow, I remember this. It's very true. And it doesn't stop after high school, either. ;) That's life, and sometimes we only make it through by the grace of God.

I love this line: "just stop and let me see the sky." Feeling a bit trapped? I know. I used to walk out and get the mail a lot, but now I don't so much, so each time I get to take that walk and enjoy the world, it's special. Maybe things are taken away so we'll cherish what we have.

Sorry for the rambles. I really like this poem. :) Are you thinking of putting it to music?

Thanks for the comment. And yes, I have put music to it. :)

Good job Brianna! I really enjoyed this!!!

"Out of doubt, out of dark to the day's rising,
I came singing in the sun, sword unsheathing.
To hope's end I rode and to heart's breaking:
Now for wrath, now for ruin and a red nightfall!"

My senior year was a blur of "if I can just get done, if I can just get done," and when it happened, I actually missed it. Really. I had just finished up a history test, and went to find my science book, when I realized that my science book was gone. And my history was done too. I asked my mom what else I had to do, and she said 'Nothing. You're done." Talk about anticlimactic!
Great poem!

Brother: Your character should drive a motorcycle.
Me: He can't. He's in the wilderness.
Brother: Then make it a four-wheel-drive motorcycle!

Love this, as you know. I actually have it stuck in my head right now...

I like it, but....is that really what's in store for me???

BTW, Brianna, I'm not exactly sure about this, but a lot of the new members names bear a striking resemblance to the spam comments. Just wondering; maybe you could look at that.
