this heart

This heart,

burried in the soil, wet

with tears of ages, wept

for grief

and guilt, laden

now upon hearts who

strive

to descend in

hope,

just as this hallowed body,

buried

beside their very

love

that drove them on.

This is hope.This place.

This broken place.

This garden.

This place so full of

ugliness.

Ugliness that

now

cannot compare to the

beauty,

which now

consumes,

for its

touch. Its Sacred

touch.

These hands that

touched

this brokeness now

redeemed

by love.

This love,

this love that

died

This love that

dies.

This death that

dies

for love that

abides.

This life that

rises

from

this pain

this brokenness.

This earth which

holds

close the

tears

holds close the

fears.

This heart.

This heart now

breathes

deep peace

through greatest

horrors

through death

where now there is no

sting.

This heart.

This heart that

abides.

This heart that

survived

and whispers

through our soul's darkest

nights

be still.

Together buried,

this heart and night.

WOW. (!!!!) THE RHYTHM AND WORDS ARE SO GOOD. Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, LOVE this!!! <3

Additional comment: Each time I read this (four times in total) it's as if I've never read this before--as if it is new. And at one time, I could relate. :) But the rhythm is stunning and the words strking; powerful. I cherish every word - really I do.

"It is not the length of life, but the depth of life." Ralph Waldo Emerson

(btw, by eyes bugged out when I saw you posted. I was so happy). This poem is beautiful, Brianna. It was also at the perfect timing because I was feeling sort of gloomy. I think I have to go over and read it again. :)

Ohh. Sad. Very sad. I had tears too. glad you posted again. :)

Emilee: I absolutely love your tag. How true!!

Goodbye? Oh no, please. Can’t we just go back to page one and start all over again?” – Winnie The Pooh

This has beautiful rhythm. My favorite part started with,
This love,
this love that
died
This love that
dies.
This death that
dies
for love that
abides...

I have hated the words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right. --The Book Thief
