Close Your Eyes

**Hola peeps! I know I haven't been on in a very long time and I'm so sorry!!! But summer is here and the ideas are running again so I will be fixing that problem! This was a school assignment, but everything is fun at 1 in the morning right? Of course right!**

Close your eyes. Stand in the rain. Smell the freshness rolling off the hills. Listen to the thunder giants in the distance. Feel the wind running past you. Taste the salt of the sky’s tears on your lips.

Close your eyes. Twirl in a circle with your hero cape swirling around you. Listen to the warm wind blowing gently by your ears. Smell the wet grass under your feet. Feel the soft sunlight warming your shoulders. Taste the newness of spring.

Close your eyes. Spread your arms and imagine that you can fly. Listen to the crash of the receding storm as it moves back over the mountain. Smell the dampness of the earth curling up to meet you. Feel the wind pushing its fingers through your tousled hair. Taste the joy that life has to offer.

Close your eyes. Lean back against the wind that is pushing and pulling at you. Listen to the birds sing in the trees over you. Smell the flavor of cooking hamburgers wafting on the breeze and winding its self around you. Feel the tickle of pine bows against your face. Taste the grit of determination as you climb to the top of the tree.

Close your eyes. Sway on your perch in the branches. Listen to the returning of the rain storm. Smell the pungent odor of damp evergreen. Feel the rain misting down once more. Taste the flavor of adventure.

The whole thing was excellent. The first paragraph was the best.  The line: Taste the salt of the sky’s tears on your lips was incredible.  I love the way you used all of the senses.  I will be re-reading this one, I can assure you.  Very, very, very well done!

Brother: Your character should drive a motorcycle.
Me: He can't. He's in the wilderness.
Brother: Then make it a four-wheel-drive motorcycle!

The thunder giants - wow, I can almost see them.  Large and gray - not spooky, but powerful.  I've never even thought of thunder that way before.  And as a future storm chaser, I have thought at length about that sort of thing.  Which makes you a genius.  Congratulations, genius friend!

And the rest of it is pretty in a very fresh, dewy, springtime way.  I love it.  I can't believe I didn't see it before.
