Swept off my feet
Flying past the world
Taken by surprise,
Caught in a wild blur
Pictures and feelings
Pass by on this train
People wave,
Then say goodbye
As quickly as they came
Taking a map,
To see where I am
I plotted out every course,
Every place, every land,
Yet I feel more lost
Then I think I’ve ever been
I’ve left something behind
I used to hold inside
It slowly faded
From thought and mind
A whisper, an urge
Tugs at my soul
Pleading to not forget
To not let go
I feel the train pause
For a moment time stands still
Long enough for me to run
And take a blind leap off
Into the golden sun
Freedom, peace,
Strength that was not my own
Filled my spirit as I ran
Into wilderness unknown
Collapsing alone onto grass
I felt an old friend close by
Words in thoughts I had so longed to hear
Even if I hadn’t taken time to allow Him near
The world could have ended
And I would have been at peace
Nothing else mattered
In time, space or eternity
When I stood up to go
To journey on ahead
I realized I didn’t need a train
To rush this way and that
But my own two feet
With Him at my side
Taking all the joys,
And sorrows in stride
Not keeping to time
Nor the worlds clock
But the story I know
That is written for me
Taking in every moment
With all it’s impossible possibilities
