Here's the story I promised..
Sorry I haven't been able to finish it, but I'm getting pretty busy.. prepping to move out and such...
Anyways.. enjoy it..
A man walked through the carnage, carefully sidestepping the glowing remains of several spaceships. His head was down, and he seemed to be looking for something. A flash of red caught his eye, and he glanced up. With stumbling steps, he hurried to the bright scarf that had attracted his attention. One look at the body was all he needed. Slowly he turned, tears flowing down his face. He took two steps, tripped over a mangled body, and fell to his knees.
William Carthagon was never physically strong, and he often resented that fact. But what he resented more was that his father had been murdered. Silently he swore to himself that he would avenge his father's death for the hundredth time.
A voice intruded into his thoughts, “Mr. Cathagon, the recruiter is now ready to see you now.”
William stood slowly, forcing his numbed body to move. He followed the secretary through the double doors. In a small office sat a large man. He was not fat, but simply huge. As he stood to shake William's hand, his hair brushed the low ceiling.
“My name is John Feldsworth. Please, sit down.” He motioned to a wooden chair which sat facing his desk. William sat. Feldsworth lowered his bulk onto his own chair, which creaked and groaned under the weight.
“Let's get right to business, Mr. Carthogen.”
“Carthagon, sir.”
“Sorry. Carthagon. As I was saying, let's get right down to business. You want to join the Delmos Special Forces, and I'm here to see if you're able. Firstly, would you mind telling me why you want to join?”
“My father was killed by Kelman's troops. I have a plan to get revenge, but I need training.”
Feldsworth looked serious, “Mr. Carthagon, I'm afraid we can't help you. The Delmos Special Forces are to protect and defend our planet, not fill some personal vendetta.”
“But-”
Feldsworthy interrupted him, “I'm sorry. This meeting is over.” He shuffled some papers around on his desk and pretended to be busy. When William didn't move, he glanced up.
“I said this meeting is over.”
“I'm not leaving, sir.”
Feldsworthy glared, “Get out of my office before I call security.”
William ignored him, and stared out the small window. Feldsworthy tapped on his intercom switch.
“Maude, get me security. Now.”
A few seconds later, the door opened and two uniformed security guards entered. Feldsworthy motioned towards William. “Get this scumbag out of my office.”
One of the guards put his hand on William's shoulder. William shrugged it off. The guard tried again, grabbing the cloth of William's jacket. “Alright, mate, let's move.”
William turned quickly, grabbed the guard's arm, and flung him over his chair into the ground. The guard lay still.
The other guard immediately produced a submachine gun, pointing it at William. “Hold it right there!”
Feldsworthy quickly rose and checked the fallen guard. “You're lucky you didn't kill him, Carthagon.”
William ignored him, choosing instead to engage in a staring contest with the standing guard. The guard glanced away after a minute. Instantly William was out of his seat, and before the guard knew what was happening, he was on the ground, his weapon in William's hands. William stared at him for a full minute, before turning and placing the gun on the desk. He turned to Feldsworthy. “I need that training.”
Feldsworthy looked shell-shocked. “Carthagon, you expect me to recruit you, after you've taken down both my guards?”
William nodded. “Are either of them seriously injured?”
“No.”
“I need that training.” William repeated.
He'd begged and fought for it, and finally he had it. William carefully folded his uniform and packed it into his suitcase. After serving with the Delmos Special Forces for 6 years, he was finally free to carry out his plan. He slipped his Springfield Carbon D14 sidearm from its holster, stroking the soft perma-rubber handle. He placed the pistol in his suitcase and snapped the lid shut. A knock sounded on the door. “It's open.” William called. The door burst open, and two uniformed men entered the room. “Captain Carthagon, sir. Lieutenants Petty and Johnson reporting for portage duty.” William turned, putting on a look of mock severity. “What took you two so long? These cases should have been out of here yesterday! What do you think this is? The army?”
The two men grinned. “Captain, you never change.” William smirked. “Alright, let's move out.”
Each of them grabbed a suitcase. Petty groaned as he tried to heave his. “What do you have in here, Captain, an armory?”
“Actually, yes.”
“I knew it.”
They were laughing as they left the room and headed towards William's car.
“Can we come with you, sir?” Petty looked hopeful.
“I have to do this by myself. I'm sorry.”
“But-” Williams interrupted him, “You have your orders, soldier. Move it.”
Petty shook his head stubbornly. “I'm coming with you, sir. If you won't let me ride with you, I'll get my own ride. But I'm coming with you.”
Johnson nodded his agreement. Williams sighed, “Alright you two, you have exactly thirty minutes to pack your things.”
Petty produced a duffle and tossed it in the back, Johnson quickly following his example. They both stepped into the car. “Ready sir.” Petty grinned.
Williams laughed, “You two scallawags. Alright, hang on to your hair!”
Tires squealed as Williams floored the pedal, and his car roared out of the parking lot.
They gazed proudly at the spaceship. “She sure is a beauty.” Petty breathed.
The spaceship, an older Hawk-53 stealth scout, was as sleek as they come. With barely enough room to seat three people, it was among the smallest of the spaceships available in that sector.
Its bio-magnetic shields, powered by special colonies of algae, were designed to diffuse and absorb nearly all frequencies of radio waves, thus rendering the ship nearly invisible to both the Rodai system and the conventional Radar.
Petty turned to William as a thought struck him. “Captain, where are we gonna store all our equipment on this thing?”
William turned to a mechanic who hovered nearby. “Hey, you. Is there any way we can build a small storage bay into this thing?” The mechanic turned. “It depends, sir. Do you want the weapons systems?”
“No.”
“Removing those weapons systems will give you a perfect storage bay, about the size of an ordinary closet. Is that how much you need?”
Williams smiled, “Perfect. Get on it.” The mechanic nodded and hurried off.

Brilliant, absolutely brilliant...
This is one of the best works I have read on A.P. ! The first paragraph was so well written, very nice flow. I laughed at some bits, and felt sad in others, and all in such a short piece! I am just busting for more. :D
