You are the only one that knows how I feel.
When people hurt me, when they tease me or make fun of me, You know how long the scars take to heal.
You feel my pain, all the hurting, all the shame.
You've been there. You understand.
You came to earth fully God and fully man.
You took the teasing, You took the beating,
You took it all without a word.
You took the crown of thorns, and the people's scorns, and not a complaint was heard.
You let them pierce Your hands and your feet.
You let them shout at You, and You they beat.
You hung on the cross at Calvary for me.
You hung on the cross at Calvary for me!
I know You could have walked away.
And yet, for me, You chose to stay.
Now I ask myself, "Why did He do it? Why did he endure it for me, a sinner?"
And I realize, He must have loved me, enough to make me a winner.
We're all winners, don't you see?
Because He died for you, and He died for me.
He must love me--to Him I'm special.

So what else matters?
My whole world could shatter.
People can tease me, for all I care.
Jesus' love is what I'll share!
I'll turn the other cheek,
I'll stand up for the "geek."
Cause Jesus loves me--I'm free!
I'm free from the pain, the shame, the blame--Jesus took it all for me!
