Forever Ago

Thank you for two perfect years
I apologise for letting my thoughts
Get in the way of some important bits
But you were great. So was I.

We did magnificently in our roles,
You talking me out of some stupid ideas,
And I, the wide-eyed companion,
Getting in some horrific messes with you.

Thanks for the dreams. They were a comfort
But don't forget to visit, again, because
I'll miss you. You were a brilliant friend
And you fueled a lot of stories. They were good as well.

We went together like nightmares and closets,
Sickness and death, an unstoppable
Team of misfits who tended to destroy
All in their paths. But it was fun.

Thanks for being there. The changes
And the pain, the good and the bad,
My pointless revelations at two a.m.,
You were always there to talk to. Thanks.

We laughed and cried together, we bonded
And fought together, we basically
Did everything that pals were supposed to do.
I don't regret a thing we did together.

You had me speaking in lofty language,
Flying higher than the sky would allow,
Inside a magical land where, for an hour,
Nothing could touch us, nothing could hurt us.

Thank you for the love
I apologise for not seeing it sooner
But thanks anyway. It was the best.
We were the best.

Aww, this is so sad. You gave me such a sad, bittersweet feeling. You didn't exactly say what happened, but just writing this in the past tense tells us that something broke this friendship, no matter how sweet it was even just for two years. I know how it feels. Great job. :)

This is beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I love your poetry; it seems to describe everything amazingly.

"But thanks anyway. It was the best.
We were the best."

That line is awesome. Reminds me of *typed nothing for ages* everything.

Sweet, so very sweet.
