Scarred

When you are cut
Does it scar?
When you bleed
Does it stain?

When I am broken
It leaves marks
When I am pushed
I always bruise

Do not hurt me
It won’t leave
You might move on
My marks stay

If all you believe is
Forgive, forget
You don’t look down
Don’t see the scars

We all are covered
In many marks
They show your life
Your survival

So remember the pain
See the scars
Before you hurt me
In carelessness

Another great poem!

I actually can't hold a grudge against someone very long...even if I want to. Besides, it always rewarding to forgive all the time and when I do, there's just this happiness and peace and freedom that flows. Instead of continuing hatred. :)

"It is not the length of life, but the depth of life." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Oh, I completely agree! But I also think that relationships can hurt beyond repair, and even if you forgive, sometimes you can't move on. But there are way to many scriptures about forgiving to think that holding grudge is ok!
